I have had
this model for
years and years.
It was originally
powered by a
speed 600 electric
motor and flown
on 8 x 2,400mAh
Ni-Cd cells
(9.6V) It was
very heavy and
barely had enough
power just to
do basic circuits.
The model is
now powered
by a Purple
Power 600
size brushless
motor available
from www.4-Max.co.uk
This has
transformed
the model from
an aircraft
that could barely
fly to an aircraft
that has huge
amounts of power.
It can now perform
vary large loops
and giant barrel
rolls. The flight
time has risen
from 4 minutes
to over 15 minutes
with a bit of
throttle control.
It is now a
delight to fly.
It is quite
old now and
has been broken
in several pieces
on several occasions,
so is quite
tatty, but it
is still one
of my favourite
models.
Even though
it has been
out of production
for a few years
now I did manage
to track another
one down via
the BMFA
classified ads.
I also have
Messerschmitt
BF109 from
this same series
